after reading St. Louis-Marie de Montfort's "True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin", I see why the first reading for the memorial of Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary is taken from Genesis 27. The text of "True Devotion" is available online for free at many places, among them:

• "True Devotion" on Google Books
• "True Devotion" on the website of the Montfort Missionaries.

 The Youth 2000 I attended was geared mostly for confirmation students.

It was held in a gym. They put up an altar for mass in one end of the hall.

They set up "the burning bush" (the wood planks for candles and the monstrance) in the middle of the gym.

First, There was a talk about holy mass and transubstantiation. That, in the upcoming mass, Jesus will make himself truly present in the disguise of bread and wine. And that one of the consecrated hosts will be displayed in a monstrance atop the burning bush.

Then the mass begins.

In the end of mass, the priest exposes the blessed sacrament and brings Jesus on top of the burning bush.

Then there was a talk about adoration.

And then they go into praise and worship, with Jesus' Real Presence literally in their midst.

The blessed sacrament remained exposed for the whole weekend, while the attendants listen to talks about chastity, Mary and the rosary, universal call to holiness and specific religious vocations, etc, interspersed with praise and worship.

HTC Incredible's Contacts Storage 2.2 ballooned to 108MB, and caused Android to keep giving me "low on space" notifications. After a factory reset, it's now back to ~21MB (rising steadily... memory leak?)

Assuming we have installed Oracle Instant Client 11,

1. Browse to homepage of cx_Oracle.
2. Download the "CentOS 5 x86_64 RPM (Oracle 11g, Python 2.5)" (Ubuntu 8.10 (intrepid) by default carries Python 2.5).
3. Install the RPMs using alien. For example, at the time of this writing:
   sudo alien -i cx_Oracle-5.0-11g-py25-1.x86_64.rpm

To test,
python -c 'import cx_Oracle'
should "just return" without errors.

1. Browse to Instant Client for Linux x86-64 download page. (At the time of this writing, the "Linux AMD64 (32-bit and 64-bit)" only provides version 10).
2. Download the "Instant Client Package - Basic" RPM (e.g. oracle-instantclient11.1-basic-11.1.0.7.0-1.x86_64.rpm). You might also need "SQL*Plus (-sqlplus)" and "SDK (-devel)".
3. Install the RPMs using alien. For example, at the time of this writing:
   sudo alien -i oracle-instantclient11.1-basic-11.1.0.7.0-1.x86_64.rpm
4. Create
   /etc/ld.so.conf.d/oracle-instantclient11.1-basic.conf
   containing:
   

   /lib
   /usr/lib/oracle/11.1/client64/lib
   

5. sudo ldconfig

You might need to install libaio1.
